Regarding concerns about the fairness of the impeachment trial, the Constitutional Court has announced that it will judge independently according to conscience under the Constitution and laws.

When asked at a regular briefing today (7th) about doubts about the fairness of the judgment, Constitutional Court Press Officer Shin Jae-hyun said, "The Constitutional Court is a judging body established to resolve constitutional disputes and protect constitutional order at the will of the sovereign people."

He stressed that he would leave the ruling and opposition parties and only look at the people, and that it would not be the will of the sovereign who created the Constitution to create a new constitutional dispute.

Earlier, the ruling party argued that confidence in the fairness of the impeachment trial could be shaken if the Constitutional Court accepts the withdrawal of the criminal rebellion among the reasons for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

The Constitutional Court also said yesterday that it requested the Ministry of National Defense's special investigation team, police special investigation team, and prosecution's special investigation headquarters to send investigation records, with the impeachment hearing just a week away.President

Yoon also submitted an additional opinion yesterday, but added that the contents could not be disclosed.
