During the December 3 emergency martial law, the police leadership, which mobilized police personnel to block the National Assembly and supported the operation of the so-called arrest team, was put on trial.
The special investigation headquarters of the prosecution's emergency martial law handed over Cho Ji-ho, the police chief, and Kim Bong-sik, the former head of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, to trial in custody on charges of engaging in important civil war missions and obstructing the exercise of rights to abuse authority.
The prosecution believes that they met with President Yoon at 7:20 p.m. on December 3 last year at the house in Samcheong-dong and heard the plan to declare emergency martial law, and put 1,740 experienced people into the National Assembly to control the National Assembly completely.
They are also accused of supporting the attempted arrest of key figures by the Defense Security Command and the attempt to take out the Central Election Commission server.
The prosecution believes that their actions caused riots for the purpose of national constitutional disorder and abuse their authority to do duty-free work.
