Former Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min, who resigned after being on the verge of impeachment after the December 3 emergency martial law incident, was found to have received and used a security cell phone from the Presidential Security Service during his tenure.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security responded to a question by Yoon Gun-young of the Democratic Party of Korea about the number of non-propelled phones paid to the Minister of Public Administration and Security in the last decade, saying that one non-propelled phone paid to the former Minister Lee was returned to the Presidential Security Service after the resignation of the Minister.

Former Minister Lee is known to be the only former minister of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security who received and used non-propelled phones during his tenure as a minister.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety explained that the presidential security agency is responsible for managing non-propelled phones, and whether or not the records related to the use of non-propelled phones are unknown due to the resignation of the minister and the return of non-propelled phones.
