The police investigated former chairman Kim for about two hours from around 1:30 p.m. today.
Former chairman Kim is accused of ordering key witnesses to reverse their testimony during the Ssangbangwool remittance trial.
Earlier in June last year, the Democratic Party of Korea filed a complaint with the police against former chairman Kim on charges of perjury, and Ahn Jung-soo, former president of the Asia-Pacific Peace Exchange Association, on charges of perjury.
The Democratic Party claims that the two men, who testified that the $8 million provided by the Ssangbangwool Group to the North was originally money for investment and stock price manipulation, changed their words as if it was money for Gyeonggi Province and then-Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung's visit to North Korea.
He also raised suspicions that Kim provided housing to Ahn's children, claiming that Kim taught Ahn perjury and paid the price for it with the aim of harming Lee Jae-myung.
