Genesis BBQ Chairman Yoon Hong-geun, who has led the Korea Skating Union, will not run in the next election.

The Skating Union said in a press release today (8th) that Chairman Yoon expressed his intention not to run for the election and thanked the ice skaters he had accompanied for the past four years.

Chairman Yoon expects the new executive to further develop the ice skating world, and said he will continue to support them anytime, anywhere as an eternal ice skater.

Chairman Yoon was elected by running alone in the 2020 election, when the federation was a management organization, and has expanded his stride in the sports world by giving the medalist a so-called "chicken pension" as the head of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

The Skating Union will receive registration as a candidate for president for two days from the 15th to the 16th, and so far, the only person who has announced his intention to run is Lee Soo-kyung, former figure skater, and Sambo Motors Group Chairman.

If you are a sole candidate, the election management committee will determine whether there is a reason for disqualification without a separate voting process and announce you as the elected on the 24th.
