The French government has warned U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who has expressed his intention to incorporate Danish Greenland into the United States, that Europe's sovereign borders should not be violated.

French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Barro appeared on local radio and said Greenland was Danish and clearly European territory and that the European Union would not allow any country in the world to violate its sovereign borders.

He then said that the essence of the United States is not imperialism, but urged us to strengthen ourselves further as we enter an era in which the laws of the strong are in use.

He also criticized Tesla CEO Elon Musk, a close aide to Trump, for failing to properly deal with the recent friction with heads of state over his interference in European politics.

The Minister pointed out that if the EU Commission cannot protect its members from external interference or threats of interference, it should give back the power to protect itself.
