Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, an artificial intelligence (AI) chip leader, predicted that it will take 20 years for a useful quantum computer to come out in relation to the rapidly emerging quantum computer.

At CES 2025, the world's largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition, CEO Hwang said, "If a very useful quantum computer comes out in 15 years, it will be in the early stages, and if it comes out in 30 years, it will be in the late stages."

"When quantum computers are released in 20 years, many people will believe it," he said.

Unlike conventional computers, quantum computers based on the principles of quantum mechanics are expected to perform much more calculations at the same time than conventional computers and solve problems that humans have not solved.

While big tech companies have begun developing quantum computers, Google recently drew attention by announcing that it has developed a quantum computer that solves a problem that takes 10 Septillion years, which means the power of 10 to 24, in five minutes.
