U.S. President Joe Biden said last year that he thought he could have won if he had not quit and ran for president.

Asked in an interview with USA Today published on the 8th local time if he thought he could have won the election last November, President Biden made the remarks.

He also said he thought he had the best chance of winning when Trump ran for re-election, but that he talked about handing over Baton because he didn't want to be president when he was 85 or 86.

President Biden, who is 82 this year, resigned as presidential candidate after his first TV debate with Trump in July last year amid controversy over his seniority.

President Biden initially said he would not pardon his son Hunter for pardoning him for firearms and tax evasion, but later explained that he had identified two elements that Hunter paid taxes posthumously and had no precedent of being charged with illegal possession of the same type of firearm.

He also added that in a meeting with Trump, Trump praised some of his economic measures and said he was leaving office with a good record of office.
