L.A. Fire Commissioner Christine Crowley said at a press briefing that strong winds make extinguishing operations difficult and that wildfires in the West Coast's Buchon Pacific Palisades were the most destructive natural disaster in L.A. history.
About 180,000 people across L.A. County have been ordered to evacuate amid the difficulty of responding to wildfires, and some areas have lost electricity and gas supplies.
According to the Consulate General of LA, there have been no casualties of Koreans in the fire.
JPMorgan Chase, the largest financial company in the U.S., estimates that the economic damage from the wildfires in LA County will be $50 billion to date and 73 trillion won in our money.
