Park Jong-joon, the head of the Presidential Security Service, submitted his resignation in line with the police summons investigation.

The Security Service said that Park, the head of the bodyguard, submitted his resignation to Acting President Choi Sang-mok this morning (10th) while attending a police summons investigation.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that Director Park's resignation letter has been accepted.

A ruling party official said Park seems to have resigned from a desperate message asking the president not to issue an incident due to excessive execution of arrest warrants.

An official from the Security Service explained that Kim Sung-hoon, the deputy head of the Security Service, is expected to act as an agent in accordance with the relevant regulations when Director Park is unable to perform his duties.
