(As you saw earlier), polls show that the gap in approval ratings between the ruling and opposition parties, which has widened since the emergency martial law crisis, has recently narrowed again.

It's been only about a month, and the "cautious theory" is raising its head within the Democratic Party, which is leading the impeachment process.

Reporter Kim Kyung-soo reports.

The opinion poll shows that the power of the people and the support of the Democratic Party have returned to the level before the declaration of the emergency martial law.

Some analysts say that the "learning effect" of giving up the government too smoothly during the impeachment of former President Park Geun Hye in the past and the antipathy toward representative Lee Jae-myung led to conservative unity.

[Yoo In-tae / Former Secretary-General of the National Assembly (CBS Radio 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the 9th): There are a lot of 'Lee Jae-myung's phobia' rather than anything else. Especially over there.]

The Democratic Party is closely watching the trend, and some in the party are raising their heads.

Following the impeachment of Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, the possibility of the impeachment of Acting President Choi Sang-mok went against public sentiment hoping for stability in state affairs.

[Kim Young-jin / Rep. of the Democratic Party of Korea (10th, SBS Radio 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show') : We need to go in the direction that the people tell us to go. / We need to refrain from going too far such as impeachment.]
Some said that the government's push for a hard-line approach rather than seeking a solution through
dialogue would have been arrogant to the public.

[Jung Sung-ho / Democratic Party member (10th): Isn't the relationship between the ruling and opposition parties completely cut off? Criticizing, criticizing, and mocking each other is commonplace, but it shouldn't be like that.]

As radical remarks and unverified allegations are also cited as negative factors, the argument that the Democratic Party should be more cautious is gaining convincing power.

[Jeong Chung-rae / Chairman of the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee (7th): The Yoon Suk Yeol will be sentenced to death for rebellion by the court. You don't have to worry too much.]

In addition, the ruling party's offensive, which defined the Constitutional Court's process of resolving issues in the impeachment trial as "excluding rebellion," was also effective.

As the flow of public opinion was unusual, representative Lee Jae-myung also defended himself.

[Lee Jae-myung / Democratic Party leader (8th): Originally, the court is supposed to organize these issues. Can't you use the word "sin" by mistake?]

The Democratic Party is looking for a breakthrough by rekindling suspicions of "external pressure on Chae Sang-byung investigation" and "Myeong Tae-gyun gate."

It is also making efforts to highlight the aspect of a "authoritative party" by urging the formation of a rapid supplementary budget for economic recovery.

The Democratic Party, which has been embroiled in a responsibility theory due to prolonged political turmoil, seems to be considering a solution.

However, there is a possibility that public opinion will fluctuate again depending on whether President Yoon is arrested or not and the impeachment trial process.
