Amid the worst wildfires in LA for days, President Biden said the number of people missing could increase casualties.

A curfew was imposed as looting and stealing were rampant in the forest fire-hit areas.

Fire helicopters are busily traveling to and from the mountains covered with flames.

The number of victims is also increasing significantly as the spreading flames have hit tens of thousands of homes.

The residential area devoured by the fire has no longer been found.

[Thomas Con / LA Fire Victim: See?Shippy, there's nothing left. I've been doing this for an hour and a half, but I can't leave the house.]

While the strong winds have subsided, they have barely started to put out the flames, but they have not dramatically increased the rate of evolution.

In addition, there are still many missing people, so we have not even been able to estimate the amount of casualties.

[Joe Biden / President of the United States] Many people are missing and don't know where they are. I don't know the exact scale, but the casualties are likely to increase. I hope not, but it could happen.

In the rich neighborhood where the fire broke out, a night curfew was imposed due to looting and stealing.

[Nathan Hawkman / LA County Attorney General: Looting is a vile crime. Those who have already been arrested will be severely punished.]

Meanwhile, millions of residents in Los Angeles County have been sent false disaster texts.

The evacuation warning sounded indiscriminately even though it was not a fire area, but the authorities explained that it was a technical error.

[Kevin McGowan/Los Angeles County Emergency Management Director: Please do not turn off the disaster alert (because of false alarm).]

With no rain forecast for the time being in January, which is usually the rainy season in California, and strong winds expected again next week, fire officials plan to tighten the reins of the fire this weekend.
