16 Seongnam city councilors charged with 'sharing voting site certification'

The Seongnam branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office indicted Representative Chung Yong-han, a member of the People's Power, without detention on charges of committing fraud in the election of the chairman of the Seongnam City Council, and summarily prosecuted 15 members of the same party with fines.

They are accused of violating the principle of secret voting by taking pictures of ballots announced during the election of Seongnam City Council president on June 26 last year and posting them on messenger group chat rooms.

Earlier in July last year, the police launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from the Democratic Party of Korea of the City Council.
