U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan says Yoon Suk Yeol's declaration of martial law is wrong and that a quick resolution is in the U.S. security interest.

The South Korea-U.S. alliance emphasized that it was unwavering, wary of the possibility of North Korea taking advantage of South Korea's political turmoil.

U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan mentioned Yoon Suk Yeol's declaration of martial law at a press conference at home and abroad.

Sullivan called the martial law incident on March 3 "shocking" and "thought it was wrong."

He then said he expects the situation to be resolved in accordance with the Korean Constitution without violence.

Sullivan also stressed that he believes South Korea will get out of the situation as a stronger democratic country.

At the same time, he said he does not know where the Trump administration, which is about to be launched, will take the Korea-U.S. alliance, but is ready for success.

However, they expressed concern about North Korea.

There is a possibility that North Korea will take advantage of South Korea's political turmoil to take provocative actions.

Therefore, he stressed, "From the U.S. standpoint, it is in the U.S. security interest that the political crisis in South Korea is resolved as soon as possible under the Korean Constitution."

As a national security adviser, he cited the failure to make substantial progress in resolving the North Korean nuclear issue.

Regarding the cooperation between South Korea, the U.S., and Japan, Sullivan also said, "It will continue to be important for a certain period of time."

Since the inauguration of the Trump administration, he pointed out that "if we move away from trilateral cooperation, our deterrence against China and North Korea will weaken."
