Putin Declines 'Hero' for Ukra Soldiers and Hundred Soldiers

A Russian soldier, who became famous for his victory video after a desperate battle with a Ukrainian soldier, is awarded a medal by Russian President Vladimir Putin, local media reported.

On the 11th local time, the Kremlin said Putin had signed a presidential decree praising the courage and heroism of Corporal Andrei Grigoryev and giving him the title of "Hero of Russia."

Grigoryev is a person who became famous with a video of the Battle of the Paik, which was released on social media earlier this month.

In this video, filmed last fall at a village battle in Donetsk, Ukraine, he overpowered a Ukrainian soldier after a fierce struggle with his dagger.

Grigoryev, who became a celebrity in Russia with this video, is from Russia's Siberian Republic of Saha and volunteered to join the military in April last year.
