U.S. Vice President-elect JD Vance has shown subtle differences with Trump, saying that anyone who broke into the Capitol in January 2021 and used violence against the results of the presidential election should not be pardoned.

"If you used violence that day, you definitely shouldn't be pardoned," Vance told Fox News.

However, he said, "If you protested peacefully at the time and the Biden administration's Justice Department treated you like a gang, you should be pardoned."

"There is a little gray area between violent and nonviolent protesters in relation to the January 6 incident," he said, adding, "I think we need to correct what many people have been unfairly prosecuted after the January 6 incident."

Earlier, Trump said, "Those who did not enter the Capitol building at the time were also imprisoned," and predicted, "We will review everything and give a large-scale pardon."

Vance called the Danish Greenland, which Trump is eyeing, "a real opportunity for the U.S. to show leadership in protecting security and developing enormous natural resources."

{Trump is good at trading,'' he said, adding, "There is a deal to be made in Greenland." He explained, "When Trump's eldest son went to Greenland recently, residents wanted the right to develop natural resources."

"We need to be clear that Greenland is properly managed from a U.S. security point of view," he added.

However, Vance said Trump's statement that he would not rule out the use of force to secure control of Greenland did not indicate his intention to force Greenland to annex it by mobilizing military forces.

At the same time, he expressed his view that the use of military force against Greenland is not necessary because U.S. troops are already stationed in Greenland.
