Japan's Defense Ministry has decided to introduce 310 small self-destruct drones next year, the Sankei Shimbun reported, citing government officials.

This is the first time the SDF has a bomb-equipped self-destructive drone.

The Defense Ministry has already tested the operation of drones made in Israel, Australia and Spain, and plans to decide on the model through general competitive bidding in the future.

The Ministry of Defense has set aside 3.2 billion yen and 30 billion won for the purchase of small self-destructive drones in the 2025 budget.

The Defense Ministry plans to deploy self-destructive drones to the Ground Self-Defense Force to increase response capabilities in the Nansai Islands, which stretched from southern Kyushu to near Taiwan.
