The Muan Jeju Air plane disaster that killed 179 people.

With investigations in full swing to determine the cause of the disaster, this year's work plan by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, which is in charge of aviation safety, has focused on a safe Republic of Korea.

[Moon Sung-yo / Planning and Coordination Director, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport: We will make every effort to follow up the accident and innovate the aviation safety system as the Jeju Air plane accident has caused the bereaved families to suffer and public concerns about aviation safety.]

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is determined to objectively identify the cause of the disaster and push for the reorganization of the accident investigation committee to prevent the recurrence of the disaster.

We will create a white paper to record the disaster recovery process and come up with aviation safety innovation measures with private experts by April in order to innovate overall aviation safety.

However, despite the criticism that the disaster should reconsider the construction of new airport projects being promoted across the country, controversy is expected as it said it will push ahead with existing new airport projects such as Gadeokdo New Airport without a hitch.

At the same time, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is determined to speed up various transportation projects.

First of all, he said he would announce the results of the selection of the first railway underground project to move the railroads on the ground to the underground within the first quarter.

The construction of the so-called "4X4 high-speed rail network" that quickly connects major bases across the country will also accelerate within this year and continue to increase the number of arterial road networks, including the opening of 18 national roads.

As early as this year, it is expected to see the nation's first fully autonomous test drive in Sangam-dong, Seoul.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport also plans to introduce new seats designated for pregnant women on KTX and general trains for the convenient use of trains for pregnant women.
