Russia's Defense Ministry claimed on the 11th that Ukraine tried to attack a gas facility in southern Russia's Krasnodar Anafa with nine drones to cut off gas supplies to European countries.
The TurkStream gas pipeline starts at this facility and runs through the Black Sea to Turkiye, where gas is again supplied to European countries.
Russia's Defense Ministry said it shot down all nine drones, one of which caused minor damage to some buildings and equipment in the facility, but was quickly restored.
It also added that the facility is currently operating normally and there have been no casualties.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov criticized the attack attempt as an extension of Ukraine's long-running energy terror, local media said.
Peskov claimed the beneficiaries of such attacks were the United States, which is increasing supplies of liquefied natural gas and LNG to Europe.
Since the 1st, Ukraine has stopped transporting Russian gas to Europe, making the gas pipeline through Turkiye, such as TurkStream and BlueStream, the last route to supply gas to Europe.
