Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok issued a public appeal at around 6:10 a.m. this morning.

First of all, he said he was sorry that he could not properly improve the president's state administration, but he said he appealed directly to the people with a desperate mind to prevent the country from being divided by a head-on collision between state agencies.

He then said that the police and the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit's arrest warrant re-execution D-Day is tomorrow, and that he is trying to handcuff and drag President Yoon out after preparing for the siege.

In particular, he criticized that even if his duties were suspended, he was still pushing President Yoon, the head of state, as if he were dealing with a drug gang in South America.

He said he was not asking President Yoon to give special cases, but to guarantee the right to self-defense, which should be guaranteed equally to all Koreans.

He stressed that we should not block the mouth of a natural Yoon Suk Yeol with partisan agitation or oppression by investigative agencies, and that we should fully exercise our defense rights and ensure that we can explain our position.

He then asked President Yoon to determine whether the purpose of the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and the police to handcuff and drag them out of the Hannam-dong residence is really an investigation or a disgrace to the president.

Most worrisome is the possibility of a clash between the police and the security services, and he pointed out that "orderly law enforcement" should be followed by yesterday's directive of Acting President Choi Sang-mok, the head of the administration.

It also said the president's office is ready to consult with the police and the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, and can review all investigations or door-to-door investigations of the president at a third location.

In a phone call with YTN, Director Chung explained that he did not discuss such a plan with President Yoon, but that it would be coordinated by lawyers in the future, and that he said it was from common sense.

Chief Chung then appealed to the public to gather their will, saying he will do everything he can to prevent the conflict between the police and the security office trying to arrest the incumbent president from leading to a national crisis.
