Jin Sung-joon, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea's policy committee, proposed the establishment of a special committee for normalizing health care at the National Assembly, saying social discussions are essential to resolve the "medical crisis."

Chairman Jin said at the floor meeting that the power of the government and the people has acknowledged and apologized for their wrongdoings in relation to the medical crisis, and has taken a forward-looking stance.

He then explained that he would apply special training cases and postponement of enlistment following the return of his major, and that he also proposed a discussion on the origin of medical school quotas in 2026.

Chairman Jin said that stakeholders and civil society should also put their heads together, adding that the special committee will be able to promote social public debate on health care normalization and medical reform and even legislate it.
