The ruling and opposition parties fought sharply in the National Assembly's parliamentary investigation into the military and the Ministry of National Defense to declare an emergency martial law by the Yoon Suk Yeol government and find out the truth about the civil war.

The ruling party expressed concern that the opposition-proposed independent counsel law made it an investigation target, saying it is impossible to imagine that President Yoon conspired with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and engaged in "foreign exchange activities."

On the other hand, the opposition party criticized that the martial law army was trying to make Seoul the "second Gwangju" when it was waiting for dispatch with more than 180,000 rounds of ammunition, and that the military was mobilized for an illegal emergency martial law.

Amid a war of nerves between the ruling and opposition parties, the opposition party also decided to adopt 76 people, including President Yoon, former ministers Kim Yong-hyun and Lee Sang-min, as witnesses at the first hearing of the special parliamentary investigation committee on the 22nd.

The ruling party protested, saying it would disgrace the incumbent president, and the opposition party countered that it was inevitable to adopt witnesses for the rebellion, in which lawmakers from the ruling and opposition parties exchanged loud shouts.
