Suspicions have been raised that one out of two major wildfires in Los Angeles (LA) could be the cause of the ignition from the transmission tower.

On the 14th local time, AP and CNN reported that video footage taken early in the wildfire by victims of the "Eton wildfire" in the eastern interior Altadena area of LA County showed circumstantial evidence suggesting that the transmission tower was the ignition point.

The video, taken at around 6:24 p.m. on the 7th by a resident near the fire area, shows flames rising sharply from the lower part of a transmission tower installed in the middle of the mountain.

"It was a quiet night, and I took the video as I heard the flames burning," the witness said. "I didn't think this fire would get big enough to destroy the city."

The fire authorities estimate that the wildfire's initial ignition time is 6:18 p.m. on the same day.

The LA Times reported that investigators from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection have confirmed that they are currently investigating the area of the transmission tower.

Authorities have yet to disclose anything about the cause of the wildfires.

Southern California Edison (SCE), the electricity company that supplies electricity to the area and operates the transmission tower, argues that its electrical facilities are not related to the cause of the fire.

However, SCE acknowledged that electricity was flowing through the transmission tower at the time of the fire.

The Eton wildfire, which has been in the region for eight days, has burned 57.1 square kilometers to date, killing at least 16 people. The number of burned buildings amounts to about 7,000.
