Asked about his position on the arrest of President Yoon at a regular briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jacun replied, "I will not comment on South Korea's internal affairs."
He then stressed that China and South Korea are willing to drive the development of healthy and stable relations and that the two countries are important neighbors and partners.
Earlier, the high-ranking government official's crime investigation office arrested President Yoon after a five-hour confrontation today, 43 days after the Dec. 3 martial law was declared.
