The Guardian reported that pessimistic public opinion prevailed in countries close to the United States, including South Korea, when the European Council on Foreign Relations, a diplomatic research institute in the European Union, asked "Is Trump's election a good thing or a bad thing?"
In particular, only 11% of South Korea said "good," while 67% said "bad," the highest percentage of negative responses.
After Korea, there were many pessimistic responses from the UK, '11 EU countries', and Switzerland.
By comparison, there was a prevailing mood in India, Russia and China, as well as in Ukraine to welcome Trump's second term.
The European Diplomatic Association said long-time U.S. allies lament Trump's return to power, but almost all other countries do not, adding that Europe's relations with the U.S. are "at a crossroads."
