The Air Force said today that the ROK-U.S. air force conducted its first joint air-to-ground live-fire exercise this year.

The training included two F-15K fighters from the 11th Air Force and two A-10 fighters from the 51st U.S. Air Force.

The Air Force said air force pilots from both countries have mastered close-range air support operational procedures that support ground power with aerial firepower, and that they have dropped more than 20 MK-82 bombs accurately for this purpose.

Major Kim Ki-jae, who participated in the training, emphasized that he will firmly defend the airspace of the Republic of Korea based on the ROK-U.S. joint defense posture that has been strengthened this year.
