The Japanese government's tourism bureau said the number of foreigners visiting Japan last year reached an all-time high of 36.87 million, up 47% from a year ago.

Among them, Koreans rose 26% in a year to 8.82 million, the highest number.

China, Taiwan, the United States, and Hong Kong followed.

Japan's tourism agency explained that the Japanese government's active policy of attracting tourists, such as increasing flights, seems to have been influenced by the weak yen.

Due to the increase in tourists, foreigners who visited Japan last year spent 8,139.5 trillion yen on accommodation and shopping, and 75.7 trillion won in our money.
