The defense team of President Yoon issued a statement today (15th) after the first investigation by the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit.
President Yoon's side requested an arrest investigation at the Seoul Central District Court, not the Seoul Western District Court, which issued the arrest warrant,
The Seoul Central District Court explained that the Central District Court has exclusive jurisdiction because the Public Prosecutor's Office does not have the right to prosecute and the Seoul Central District Court, which transfers the case, has to be prosecuted with the Central District Court, the corresponding court.
The Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit plans to seek an arrest warrant for President Yoon, which is interpreted as a strategy to block him from being interrogated by the Western District Court before his arrest and to argue over whether to arrest him or not.
Earlier, the Seoul Western District Court issued two arrest warrants for President Yoon in recognition of the right to investigate the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, and rejected President Yoon's objection.
