It has been observed that an agreement between Israel and Palestinian militant Hamas on a cease-fire in Gaza could be reached soon.

The two sides have entered the final stage of coordination on a phased ceasefire, and attention is focusing on whether gunfire will stop in Gaza in 15 months.

As Israel and Hamas have been fighting for 15 months, the number of casualties is increasing.

Amid this situation, a faint news of hope came from Doha, Qatar, where the ceasefire talks were held.

Hamas has accepted a draft agreement for a phased ceasefire and the release of dozens of hostages, and final coordination is now being made.

[Majed al-Ansari / Spokesperson for Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs: We have overcome the obstacles to the issue of the biggest difference between the two sides. We are now in the final stage of coordinating the details.

According to the disclosure of the cease-fire plan, Hamas will release 33 hostages in the first stage, instead of a temporary ceasefire for 42 days.

In return, Israel stops fighting, gradually releases Palestinian prisoners, and begins negotiations for a permanent end to the war from day 16.

Experts believe the negotiations are likely to be concluded before the 20th, when U.S. President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

Trump previously warned that it would be hell for everyone if hostages held in Gaza did not return before taking office.

European and U.S. media say the possibility of a last-minute collapse cannot be ruled out, but say it is the closest to a ceasefire since the end of 2023.
