White House "Acknowledges Constitutional Compliance Efforts..."Continuing to work with the Korean government"

The U.S. government said it will continue to cooperate with the South Korean government, acknowledging the compliance of the Korean government and citizens with the Constitution after President Yoon Suk Yeol was arrested and investigated by the High-ranking Government Officials Crime Agency on charges of rebellion and other charges.

Asked by YTN about his position on the arrest of President Yoon Suk Yeol, the White House said the U.S. firmly supports the Korean people and reaffirms the joint commitment of the U.S. and South Korea to the rule of law.

He also emphasized that he recognizes all the efforts made by Korea and its people to act in accordance with the Constitution.

At the same time, the U.S. said it would still cooperate with Acting President Choi Sang-mok, reaffirming the U.S. conviction in the continued power of the South Korea-U.S. alliance and its ironclad commitment to defending South Korea.
