China, which is strengthening diplomacy with neighboring countries in preparation for the launch of the second U.S. Trump, has recently strengthened cooperation with Japan.

However, it is drawing a line with Korea, which has faced an unprecedented presidential arrest in constitutional history.

Beijing correspondent Kang Jeong-gyu reports on the reason.

An exchange council between China and Japan's ruling party was held in Beijing.

It's been six years since the 2018 Tokyo meeting.

At the meeting, Japan asked China to resume imports of its seafood and beef.

Ahead of the launch of Trump's second term, China actively targeted the need to strengthen cooperation with neighboring countries.

[Prime Minister Hiroshi Moriyama / Japan's Liberal Democratic Party: I am sure that this meeting will open a new chapter for the exchange of political parties between Japan and China.]

China's state-run Xinhua News Agency did not report such demands from Japan, only highlighting strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Instead, the Eastern Bloc, which has Taiwan as its operational zone, has touted its upcoming visit to Japan to discuss military cooperation.

[China's state-run CCTV military channel (last 13th): During the visit, the delegation will meet with the leader of the Japan Defense Ministry and the Self-Defense Forces' Integrated Enforcement Directorate and visit related military agencies.]

However, our diplomacy with China is virtually all-stop amid the unprecedented presidential arrest.

Even the president of Yoon Suk Yeol and some ruling party lawmakers are stimulating anti-China public opinion in order to turn the situation around.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned the possibility of Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to Korea, but China responded like this.

[Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Zakun: There is no specific information we can provide on the next level of high-level exchanges between China and China.]

Chinese media commented that South Korea has written a new history that is more interesting than drama, but

Chinese authorities are waiting and watching the situation, drawing a line that could lead to political turmoil in South Korea.

I'm Kang Jeong-gyu from Beijing.
