The U.S. government has emphasized its support for the Korean people, saying it recognizes South Korea's efforts to comply with the constitution after the arrest of President Yoon Suk Yeol.
At the confirmation hearing of the head of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, South Korea's declaration of martial law was cited as a failure to collect U.S. intelligence.

The U.S. State Department did not directly evaluate the arrest of President Yoon Suk Yeol, saying it was a matter to be judged in accordance with the Korean Constitution.
However, he praised the "democratic resilience," saying that he responded to the crisis facing South Korea with the power of democracy.

After the arrest of President Yoon Suk Yeol, the White House expressed its firm support to the Korean people.
It reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law with South Korea and said it recognized all the efforts of South Korea and its people in accordance with the Constitution.
The White House has repeatedly confirmed its unwavering alliance with South Korea and the U.S. defense commitment, saying it will continue to cooperate with the South Korean government, including Acting President Choi Sang-mok.
At the confirmation hearing of the head of the Central Intelligence Agency, the martial law crisis in South Korea was treated as a case of failure to gather information.
