The aftermath of the unprecedented execution of arrest warrants for incumbent presidents continues in politics.

The power of the people has been slammed as a judicial coup by the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit without investigative power, but the Democratic Party says the president's arrest has led to the realization of the rule of law.

I'm connecting with the National Assembly reporter, reporter Son Hyo-jung!

First, please tell us about the power situation of the people.

The people's power takes issue with the issuance and execution of arrest warrants and consistently defines the investigation of President Yoon as illegal.

In a morning meeting, Kwon Young-se, chairman of the emergency committee, accused the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and the police of ignoring the investigation process and effectively causing a judicial coup.

The level of attacks on judicial risks, including the trial of the Public Official Election Act by Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, has also increased.

[Kwon Young-se / People's Power Emergency Management Committee Chairman: Judicial proceedings against the president are proceeding on a KTX-class basis, and some people are sitting on the slow train of judicial proceedings. Representative Lee Jae-myung's strategy of delaying the trial should no longer be tolerated.]

{President Yoon's forced investigation has become a reality, and the ruling party seems to have launched a large-scale offensive at the same time, claiming the unfairness of the investigation.

However, there are also voices of dissatisfaction with the party line, which does not clearly draw a line against President Yoon, centered on the non-margin system.

There are concerns that the entire party could be seen as defending martial law and blindly defending the president.

In a phone call with YTN, a first-term lawmaker said the "illegal investigation debate of the Airborne Office" is difficult to persuade the public, and stressed that the party should work on the basin offensive and renovation, leaving the response to the investigation up to the president.

Then, what is the atmosphere of the opposition party that has been calling for the arrest of the president?

[Reporter]
The Democratic Party of Korea evaluated that the arrest of President Yoon would signal the restoration of constitutional order and democracy and the realization of the rule of law.

He also emphasized that since he has secured the president's whereabouts, suspicions surrounding the emergency martial law situation should be investigated through a thorough investigation.

[Park Chan-dae / Floor Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea: We need to immediately arrest the Yoon Suk Yeol and thoroughly investigate the whole December 3 civil war. We will do our best to wipe out the remnants of the civil war, stabilize people's livelihoods, and normalize the country.]

However, there is also a sense within the Democratic Party of Korea that it should emphasize its role as an alternative party rather than a direct criticism of the president.

At the morning meeting, policy committee chairman Jin Sung-joon urged the ruling party to cooperate in discussing the extra budget, saying that the government should stabilize the national turmoil that triggered the civil war and focus on reviving people's livelihoods and the economy.

A key official from Lee Jae-myung said he is sorry for the tragedy of the arrest of the incumbent president and said he will focus his capabilities on the economy, diplomacy and security at a time when people's livelihoods are difficult.

Unlike the ruling party's approval rating, which has recently recovered to pre-martial law levels, the Democratic Party's approval rating is still considered to be conscious of the stagnant situation.

A party official analyzed that conservatives gathered in the face of the president's arrest, which some supporters said would protect the president, but reflected the response of "anti-Lee Jae-myung, anti-Democratic" forces.

In this situation, the Democratic Party of Korea is vowing to deal with the so-called "insurrection independent counsel law," and please also tell us the status of the independent counsel negotiations.

[Reporter]
The Democratic Party of Korea says that the independent counsel's rebellion is the way to normalize the country, and that it will pass the independent counsel law at the plenary session within this week.

The ruling party continues to press for a proposal of the independent counsel law to come up with its own independent counsel bill.

A floor official suspected the ruling party's sincerity, saying that negotiations can begin only when the people's power brings a blank sheet of paper, but that it is dragging its feet.

The People's Power has been holding a general meeting of lawmakers for a while and discussing whether to propose the "Emergency Special Counsel Act," which reduces the subject, duration, and number of investigations in the opposition special counsel bill.

Earlier, the ruling party announced that it would negotiate with the opposition party by proposing a special prosecution bill that removed the toxic clause, but the growing skepticism of the special prosecution is a variable as public opinion within the party intensifies due to the president's arrest.

However, as there are still voices within the party that support the special prosecution should give a justification to oppose the opposition special prosecution bill and prevent the departure vote, it is a point to watch the discussion.

So far, I'm Son Hyo-jung of YTN in the National Assembly.
