The fandom of the American TV series 'Sex and the City', which was popular around the world more than 20 years ago, is still hot.

The New York Times (NYT) reported that iron doors are installed on the stairs of an apartment building in West Village, Manhattan, New York, where "Sex and the City" was filmed.

The apartment, built in the iconic New York housing style Brownstone, is famous for being the home of Carrie Bradshaw, the main character of Sex and the City, played by Sarah Jessica Parker.

In the long drama until Season 6, there were many scenes where the stairs of the apartment appeared, with Carrie sitting on the stairs and talking to her friends.

The problem is that tourists who come to their apartments to sit on the stairs like Carrie still continue 20 years after the series ended.

The owner of the apartment has installed a "no-go" sign on the stairs, but tourists say they take pictures or film videos while setting off a flash even late at night, regardless.

A nearby resident said, "The apartment is private," adding, "There is a serious situation every day."

As this continued, the owner of the apartment submitted an application to install a steel gate in New York City.

Built in 1866, the apartment is located in Manhattan's historic district and must be approved by New York City to install the new facility.

New York City approved the apartment owner's application on the 14th local time, determining that the iron gate was needed to protect the building.

The owner of the apartment said, "It's okay to take pictures as you please on the road," adding, "You shouldn't invade your personal space, such as coming up to the apartment or looking into the window."

The romantic comedy Sex and the City, which aired from 1998 to 2004, was produced in theaters, and the sequel "Answer Like That" series was also aired.
