The government has decided to implement a North Korea policy this year with an emphasis on stable management of the situation on the Korean Peninsula, such as adjusting some of the North Korean leaflets and North Korean human rights policies.

The Ministry of Unification reported this to Acting President Choi Sang-mok at a meeting on major pending issues in the foreign and security fields held today.

The Ministry of Unification also decided to maintain its stance on the "August 15 Unification Doctrine" announced by President Yoon Suk Yeol on Liberation Day last year, but push for details while considering the situation.

In addition, the government has virtually denied private contact with North Korea since last year due to the suspension of inter-Korean relations and tensions on the Korean Peninsula, and plans to maintain this stance.

On inter-Korean relations, we maintained the principle that dialogue is open, but the specific task of resuming dialogue was not included in this implementation plan.
