Martial law is the president's own authority, and labor continues over the National Human Rights Commission's agenda, which should recommend the guarantee of Yoon Suk Yeol's right to defend itself.

A non-executive member who participated as a co-sponsor of the agenda suddenly resigned due to internal criticism, and is heading for a worsening day.

Reporter Lee Hyun-jung reports.

On the 13th, the National Human Rights Commission of Korea was blocked by a strong scrum and could not hold a full committee.

Members of civic groups and personnel of the Human Rights Commission blocked the proposal to guarantee the president's right to defend Yoon Suk Yeol.

After a fierce confrontation, the committee was canceled once, but the aftermath is strong.

Monk Won Myung, one of the five co-sponsors of the agenda, submitted his resignation to the NHRC.

You said you participated in the proposal without knowing the contents, and you decided not to attend all meetings in the future.

Monk Won Myung, a non-executive member of the committee, chose to resign voluntarily because the Buddhist community criticized him for participating in the proposal.

Recently, when asked by the opposition to express its position on the unconstitutionality of martial law, the National Human Rights Commission has consistently maintained a passive attitude, saying that human rights violations in all processes should be investigated transparently.

Some members' actions to recommend guaranteeing President Yoon's right to defend himself have even caused a vacuum in human rights members, raising controversy, but the NHRC plans to hold a plenary committee meeting on the 20th and try again to deliberate on the agenda.
