The ruling and opposition parties negotiated the independent counsel law today.Attention to the possibility of an agreement

The floor leaders of the ruling and opposition parties are negotiating the special prosecution law on the December 3 emergency martial law ahead of the plenary session today (17th).

Kwon Sung-dong, floor leader of the People's Power, and Park Chan-dae of the Democratic Party of Korea, met with National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik one after another and decided to discuss whether to pass the independent counsel law agreement at 11 a.m.

While the Civil War Special Prosecutor Act, co-sponsored by six opposition parties, including the Democratic Party, passed the National Assembly's Legislative and Judiciary Committee, the People's Power will propose the Act on Special Prosecutors by reducing the scope, duration, and manpower of the investigation within the opposition party.

If the ruling and opposition parties narrow their opinions, the agreed special prosecution bill will be processed, but if the agreement fails, the "Civil War Special Prosecutor Act" is expected to pass the National Assembly plenary session led by the opposition party.
