Amid controversy over Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk's interference in European politics, Germany's Defense Ministry has decided not to use Musk-owned social media platform "X" anymore.

Germany's Defense Ministry said in a news release that the evaluation results show that objective exchange of views at X is becoming increasingly difficult, and that the ministry as well as its affiliated agencies, including the federal military, are suspending the use of X.

In the future, he said he would deliver news through Messenger WhatsApp, adding that he would not close his X account and use it in exceptional cases, such as responding to false information.

Local media said the Ministry of Environment, among federal government departments, has also stopped using the X account and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is considering leaving.

In Germany, an increasing number of organizations and groups are leaving X after Musk, who was named co-head of the government's efficiency department under the second Trump administration, openly supported Germany's far-right party and criticized the prime minister and president for political intervention.
