Hwang Joon-guk, ambassador to the United Nations, attended a meeting of the U.N. Security Council and criticized, "The testimony of the two North Korean soldiers who were recently captured shows that the North Korean military is being used as a consumable after being put into practice."

"I testified that I knew that the captured North Korean soldiers were participating in actual training," Ambassador Hwang said at a Security Council meeting held on the agenda of Ukraine at the UN headquarters in New York.

"As seen in the case of human landmine detectors, there have been massive casualties in the North Korean military due to inhumane tactics," he said. "North Korea's illegal participation in war and illegal military cooperation between Russia and North Korea should be stopped immediately."

The Security Council meeting was followed by intense criticism from the West over recent Russian attacks that have caused massive civilian casualties in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vasily Nevenza declined to comment on the North Korean military, saying "Ukrainians are reluctant to fight for Western interests" and insisting that the Zelensky regime will soon collapse.
