North Korea has officially resumed foreign tourism in the Rason Special Economic Zone, U.S. Radio Free Asia and RFA reported.

Citing Coriakonsult, a Swedish-based travel agency specializing in North Korea, the broadcaster said the special zone began accepting foreign tourists on the 16th.

He introduced that all foreigners except South Korea and the United States can visit the Rason Special Zone and stay for up to five days, but Pyongyang is not open yet.

Rason Special Zone is a special economic zone designated by North Korea in 1991 in Najin and Seonbong, North Hamgyong Province, to revitalize the economy by attracting foreign capital, and it was visited by many foreign tourists before the COVID-19 pandemic because it was close to the borders of China and Russia.
