The People's Power submitted a special investigation law to the National Assembly's bill department, which 104 lawmakers, including floor leader Kwon Sung-dong, were listed on the list of proposed lawmakers.
Compared to the opposition party's proposal, the investigation targets removed foreign exchange, propaganda and instigation of civil war, and cognitive investigation regulations, and the investigation period was reduced from 150 days to 110 days, and the number of investigators was reduced from 155 to 58.
The recommendation of the special prosecutor is maintained in a way recommended by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, but one more than the opposition proposal is required to recommend a total of three special prosecutor candidates.
In addition, regulations that force investigators to cooperate in investigations, exclusion of regulations on refusal to search and seizure of military and official secrets, and press briefing regulations were excluded.
The People's Power said it will strive to protect the rule of law and the basic human rights of the people against the independent counsel law, which gives the opposition's constitutional destructive and non-existent power.
