After the final breakdown of negotiations between the ruling and opposition parties over the special prosecution bill on the emergency martial law, the amendment re-arranged by the opposition party passed the National Assembly.

The ruling and opposition parties approved a revised bill that reduced the subject of investigation in the "special prosecutor for civil war" bill, which was previously jointly proposed by six opposition parties, at around 11:20 p.m.

Specifically, only "related recognition cases" remain among the 11 cases subject to investigation, including civil war and foreign exchange induction, and five cases, including the occupation of the National Assembly and the NEC, which were included in the proposal of the People's Power.

In addition, the investigation period was reduced from 130 days to 100 days, and the number of special prosecutors was reduced.

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the party, met with reporters before voting on the amendment and said that he largely accepted the people's claim of power during the negotiation process, and that it is safe to say that it is actually an agreement.

He added that there would be no justification to reject the power of the people, and that he expects to accept and promulgate the presidential authority of Choi Sang-mok as soon as the independent counsel law is passed.

On the other hand, the People's Power is protesting, saying that the inclusion of "cognitive case investigation" in the investigation targets has actually opened the way for all investigations.
