At the scene of the airliner disaster, the recovery and search of debris from the aircraft are in the final stages.

Police are investigating whether the airport's azimuth facilities or bird control have been properly implemented.

However, it is expected to take a considerable amount of time for the normal operation of Muan Airport, which is still closed.

It's the scene of the disaster 20 days after the accident.

All large gas debris, including fuselages, engines, and wings, as well as landing devices, have been collected.

The badly broken azimuth facility shows the impact as it was at the time of the accident.

The cause of the plane disaster is being investigated in collaboration with the United States.

The government said it will transparently disclose the investigation process and results to the bereaved families.

The Jeonnam Police Agency, which was in charge of the investigation, also called about 10 people, including airport and Jeju Air officials, as reference witnesses to investigate.

We are focusing on whether azimuth facilities and local risers have been properly installed and whether the airliner has been properly maintained.

It is also looking at whether eradication work has been carried out normally in connection with the bird collision, which is believed to be the cause of the accident.

The resumption of operations at Muan Airport, which continues to close the runway after three extensions, is still unclear.

In particular, it will take a considerable amount of time to complete maintenance such as damaged azimuth facilities.

[Park Sang-woo / Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport: It will probably take at least two or three months to reopen the airport due to such work, damage to the runway, etc.]

Jeollanam-do plans to speed up the normalization of Muan Airport by quickly restoring navigation safety facilities.

[Kim Young-rok / Governor of Jeollanam-do: I will propose to the government the introduction of a state-of-the-art bird monitoring and repulsion system and the construction of an international airport-level runway capable of taking off and landing large aircraft.]

A 70,000-square-meter memorial park with a memorial tower, forest, and garden will also be promoted near Muan International Airport.
