The joint memorial ceremony at Muan International Airport's passenger terminal was attended by 1,200 people, including 700 bereaved families, government officials and political figures.
The memorial service started with Jindo Ssitgim Exorcism to relieve the victims' resentment, followed by eulogies by representatives of bereaved families, the government, and political figures.
After the official memorial service, the bereaved families moved to the scene of the accident inside the airport and held another time to mourn.
Plans to create a memorial park will be discussed after the 49th ashes of the victims of the February 15 disaster, and additional remains of the victims will be temporarily placed in Yeongrak Park in Gwangju.
