Reuters reported that Yoon's detention, which is under investigation for rebellion over martial law, has been extended after the court accepted a request to issue an arrest warrant for him.
Japan's Kyodo News also introduced President Yoon's arrest as the first case of an incumbent national leader's arrest in Korea.
China's state-run Xinhua News Agency also broke the news that Yoon's detention period will be extended to up to 20 days, including the arrest period, as the court issued an arrest warrant for him.
