The Guardian, a British daily, explained in an article titled "Yoon Supporters Attack the Court After Arrest Announcement," that a Korean court issued an arrest warrant for President Yoon over concerns about destroying evidence.
In particular, supporters of Yoon Suk Yeol broke the court window and went on a rampage, shouting out the name of President Yoon, who plunged Korea into the worst political turmoil.
French daily Le Figaro also reported that shortly after President Yoon's arrest was announced, some supporters entered the court, damaged objects and attacked police officers.
He also said that President Yoon became the first incumbent president to be arrested by an investigative agency in Korean history, and that his arrest has been extended to a maximum of 20 days.
