Asked by a moderator how he would accept President Yoon's arrest on Japan's public broadcaster NHK's morning program, Prime Minister Ishiba said, "It is not a situation to mention Korea's internal affairs."
Prime Minister Ishiba evaluated that Korea-Japan relations improved dramatically during President Yoon's time, and that Korea-Japan relations felt good like former Prime Minister Obuchi in the past.
He added that he cannot talk about the chaos in Korea, but he wants to make sure that the importance of Korea-Japan relations will not change no matter what the regime is.
