North Korea has built factories in various places in accordance with its policy for balanced regional development, but the trend has been identified that it is not actually operating, according to the U.S. Radio Free Asia and RFA.

According to the broadcast, the temperature at the site of the local industrial plant in Eunpa-gun, North Hwanghae Province, was lower at minus 4 to 5 degrees Celsius after analyzing thermal infrared images taken by the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration and NASA's Lancet satellite on the 11th.

The temperature around the factory site in Jaeryeong-gun, Hwanghae-nam-do, which was filmed on the same day, was -6 to 7 degrees, similar to that of nearby residential areas.

These factories held a completion ceremony earlier this year and were used to promote Kim Jong-un's balanced regional development policy.

The broadcaster reported that if no heat is detected in the factory, it is likely that it is not running, and that a series of completion ceremonies may have been a show-off ceremony.
