Exactly four years ago, in January 2021, fierce supporters of then-U.S. President Trump's presidential defeat rioted on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

It is similar in many ways to President Yoon Suk Yeol's supporters stormed into the Seoul Western District Court in protest of the issuance of an arrest warrant.

The court signboard is crushed and thrown around on the floor, and the outer wall of the building is brutally broken in the hand of a blunt instrument.

The court, the bastion of the rule of law, became lawless in an instant.

On January 6, 2021, a similar thing happened in Washington, D.C., the U.S. capital, which is about 10,000 km from Seoul.

Fierce supporters of then-U.S. President Trump, who defied the presidential defeat, stormed the Capitol to block Congress' certification of Biden's election.

Five people were killed when police and protesters clashed.

The difference is that the legislature in the United States and the judiciary in Korea were attacked.

Earlier, the U.S. media also recalled four years ago and pointed out that President Yoon Suk Yeol's supporters borrowed the slogan of "Stop the Steal" from pro-Trump protesters.

It is similar for the president to actively send a message to his supporters and raise suspicions of fraudulent elections.

[President Yoon Suk Yeol (last 15) : I would like to thank you very much for your support and support. Unfortunately, the law is all broken in this country.]

[Donald Trump / Then-U.S. President (January 6, 2021)] It's time for Congress to confront this terrible attack on democracy. We will march to Parliament and I will join you.]

More than 1,500 people have been charged so far in connection with the 2021 U.S. Capitol riot, and 645 of them have been sentenced to prison.

In particular, some leaders are serving more than 20 years in prison.
