While air quality in the Midwest, including the metropolitan area, has become "bad" cloudy, smog from China is expected to be added during the day.

The National Institute of Environmental Research said that the concentration of ultrafine dust in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Province, Chungcheong Province, and Jeju rose to a "bad" level due to the dust remaining the day before due to atmospheric congestion.

As a result, the first high-concentration fine dust preliminary reduction measures were issued this winter from 6 a.m. today (20th) to 6 a.m. tomorrow, and an ultra-fine dust warning was issued at 9 a.m. in Yeongjong and Yeongheung areas in Incheon.

The National Institute of Environmental Research says that while air quality is bad, especially in the Midwest, smog from China will flow in around noon, worsening the air.

Preliminary fine dust reduction measures are issued when the concentration of ultrafine dust on the next day and the following day is expected to exceed 50 micrograms per cubic meter.
